Forest Map of Europe - Download registration page

The following products are available for downloading after registration:

European Forest Map, version 2011 – GIS data and image files

  • European Forest Map, version 2011 – GIS data and image files (background information about the methodology are provided here)
  • GIS data of the calibrated maps on coniferous and broadleaved forest in Europe, version 2002, IMG format, zipped (EFI Technical Report No. 13 describes methodological aspects and can be downloaded here)
  • Background information (readme.pdf)
  • High-resolution image file of the Forest Map of Europe, version 2011 (PNG format)
  • High-resolution image files of the maps on coniferous and broadleaved forest in Europe, version 2002 (PNG format)

Note: The high-resolution image files include some modifications to the original GIS data, for printing purposes: The areas in the northern part of Siberia (Russian Federation) were adjusted to allow for a smoother transition between forested and non-forested areas. These edits are not included in the GIS data that are available for download.
